A Sweet Ending For Our Week Long Series.

We’ve been taking about nutrient-dense produce all week and today’s feature is a perfect finish for the series and sweet enough for the finale of a meal.
Blueberries- High on the ORAC scale (that’s Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity), a measure of a food’s antioxidant power, blueberries are also deliciously versatile. Fresh, frozen, juiced or dried, blueberries are chock full of fiber for staying power, inflammation and cancer-busting phytochemicals, and vitamins C and K. Recent research suggests that compounds in blueberries may be helpful in preventing cognitive decline as we age.
Try them in smoothies, as a topping for yogurt or cold breakfast cereal, or in salads. Purchasing frozen blueberries is very cost effective way to enjoy these berries year round. Frozen berries are perfect for smoothies, mixing into your favorite muffin recipe or even stirring into pancake batter!
