Fresh Cranberry Relish

I love Thanksgiving, and I’m so excited to share one of my favorite holiday recipes with NatureBox readers. It’s a recipe that I learned from my mom, but I’ve adjusted it to include much less sugar so that the other ingredients can shine!

Ingredients:
  • 1 12oz package of fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup of unsalted walnuts
  • 1 large or 2 small Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 large orange, peeled
  • 1/3-1/2 cup sugar*, to taste

*Another dry sweetener can be substituted, but the amount you need will probably vary.

Directions:

In a food processor, process the cranberries, walnuts, apple, and orange one at a time until each ingredient is coarsely chopped. (So, process the cranberries, remove them from the processor, process the walnuts, remove them, etc. You don’t have to clean the processor in between each!) In a large bowl, combine the coarsely chopped ingredients. Mix well, and add sugar to taste. If you find the tartness of the cranberries to be a bit much, you can add a little more sugar.

Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
